WACL membership information
Women in Advertising and Communications, London (WACL) has been in existence since 1923. It currently consists of 130 of the most senior women in the UK’s marketing communications industry, drawing its membership from advertising and digital agencies, media agencies/owners and the marketing industry.
Current members include: Dianne Thompson, Chief Executive of Camelot, Christine Walker of Walker Media and Cilla Snowball, Chair of AMV/BBDO Europe among others.
Minimum entry requirements are 3 years at Board level as a Marketing Director in a client company, or as a Functional Head in an advertising or media company. These are only minimum requirements - we seek the most senior women in high profile organisations.
Membership is by invitation only, and results from a nomination by existing members, which is then scrutinised by a Membership Committee and the Wacl Executive Committee. We do not accept personal applications.
Membership requirements are to attend a minimum of three dinners a year, but we seek members who would like to do more than that - to join a committee, attend other events - to really get involved in the club to get the most out of it.
Most events are for members and their guests only but we also run events each year for younger, up and coming members of the marketing communications industries. These are publicised here on our website and usually also in relevant trade magazines.
